Defensive Applications LLC exists to make protectors better at the one skill that matters most: seeing danger before it becomes an attack. We train protectors so they’re prepared before the threat arrives, not just after it starts.
About Alan Earl
Alan Earl is the founder and lead instructor of Defensive Applications LLC. For 22 years, He served as Team Chief and Supervisory Instructor at the U.S. Army Protective Services Course, training and certifying all protective details of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and senior leadership across every military branch. This was the premier training program for DoD which the U.S. Secret Service, FBI, and Department of Energy observed, participated in and incorporated into their training. Alan deployed several times to Afghanistan and multiple other countries, leading select training and operational teams tasked with delivering mission-critical protective services instruction in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Drawing from his 30 years of experience as a police officer, SWAT member, Police Academy Deputy Director/Instructor and Team Chief, with 10,000 students trained, he developed the programs he now teaches nationwide: The Domestic Dignitary Protection Program (DDPP), a POST certified course for state and local law enforcement protective details, and Attack Recognition, a ), a POST certified framework for identifying the pre-contact cues that precede violence, taught to police officers, cadets, and protective professionals alike.
